Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre

The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre is set in 4½ acres of beautiful countryside near Chichester, an idyllic place for both long and short term residents. Established in 1986, the Centre takes in unwanted, abandoned and stray animals, giving them treatment and support to provide them with an opportunity for a better life.

Over 1,000 cats, rabbits and guinea pigs are supported each and every year. This is achieved through a range of provisions such as homing units, indoor and outdoor pens and runs, intensive care unit, veterinary facilities and recovery room.

The CRRC also help people with the costs of neutering their cat or rabbit, issuing around 400 vouchers every year and are heavily involved with feral colonies of cats which live in built up areas, farms and industrial units.

In order to cope with the demand for its services, in June 2010 a 6,000 sq ft animal and facilities building was completed. This increased the animal accommodation by 84%. Approximately 250 rescue animals live on-site, at any one time, awaiting that ‘forever home’.

The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre receives no Government funding and relies totally on public support.
