Decorum NI

Decorum NI is a registered NI charity which supports former members of the security forces - police, armed forces, prison service - and their families, who served in NI during the Troubles (1969-2007).  This is done mainly through a drop-in service which is open normally from 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri and at other times as required.  The membership stands at 430 at present with an average of 350 visitations to the drop-in centre each month being recorded to avail of the free tea, coffee and refreshments and other activities and and social interaction. Decorum NI interacts and networks widely with other like-minded community groups and statutory bodies in order to get the best service for its members.  Regular hobby classes include: fishing, photography, crafts and crochet and a range of services are provided including: counselling, complementary therapy, welfare and benefits advice, story telling, advocacy and access to our Health and Wellbeing caseworker who will take members through the bureaucracy of applying to some of the statutory services that can be encountered.  Decorum NI also organise and participate in a range of commemoration and remembrance events which includes cross border visits and an International site visit each year.  A youth programme is also in place where members participate with young people in a range of activities through the delivery of a citizenship course and a debating event and Decorum NI are keen to hera from any youth group or organisation that would like to participate.  There is also a Living History Exhibition on the premises that can be visited through appointment by groups and individuals.
