Ethnic Health Foundation Limited

Ethnic Health Foundation (EHF) was formed in 2002, registered as a Limited Company in 2003 and with the Charity Commission England and Wales as a Charity in 2005.  We engage Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities of South London (Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark) in health improvement, disease prevention and training. In particular, our beneficiaries are people of African and Afro-Caribbean descent, including refugees and asylum seekers. We enable them to improve their heath and access health services through health awareness and education; training courses and seminars and working in partnership with health authorities to deliver targeted projects, such as:

• A project on disease mangement for older people older people with chronic health problems funded by Guy's & St Thomas's Charity and recently by Big Lottery Fund.
• HIV awareness and tackling discrimination in African and Caribbean churches in South London.
• Peer-to-Peer education on HIV and sexual health amongst young people in South London.
• EHF Africa - supporting the development of an organisation in Africa which is now being funded to deliver peer-to-peer education amongst young people on HIV in Southern Nigeria.
• Various health related training courses and seminars including strokes and sickle cell disease.
